Christine Scott, Titan of the Month, November 2025

Hi everyone! I’m Christine, and I’m so excited (and honored!) to be named this month’s Titan of the Month here at Titan CrossFit. I grew up right here in Roland Park and went to Notre Dame Prep for high school. After graduating, I headed to Penn State, where I earned my nursing degree. These days, I work as a critical care nurse at Mercy Medical Center. When I’m not at the hospital or at the gym, you can usually find me in the kitchen trying out new recipes, exploring hiking trails, diving into a good book, or checking out one of Baltimore’s many local coffee shops (recommendations are always welcome).

What led you to try CrossFit?

Growing up with three older brothers, I had a very active childhood and was always outside playing sports. I played club soccer up through high school and started my gym journey lifting at the YMCA between soccer seasons. When I got to college, I kept going to the gym, but after a while, the same “push, pull, legs” cycle started to feel a bit monotonous. My older brother had started doing CrossFit and encouraged me to give it a try. He eventually convinced me to watch the 2018 CrossFit Games documentary — and that was it for me! I joined Penn State’s CrossFit club soon after and never looked back.

Why do you continue to CrossFit?

Having been an athlete all my life, I’ve always loved being part of a team — and that’s exactly what CrossFit feels like. The coaching, the encouragement, and the sense of shared purpose bring back that same team atmosphere I missed after finishing competitive sports. I love that every workout pushes me in a way I’d never push myself alone. There’s something about grinding through a tough WOD next to others that makes you dig deeper, give more, and walk away proud of what you accomplished together.

Describe how your attitude towards health and fitness has evolved since you began your journey.

CrossFit has taught me to trust myself, push past mental limits, and recognize what my body is capable of. Every time I hit a new PR, complete a challenging WOD, or achieve a movement I once struggled with, I gain confidence that carries over into other parts of my life. Fitness has become less about comparison and more about growth, resilience, and self-belief — and that shift has made the journey much more meaningful and rewarding.

Share a memorable CrossFit moment that makes you laugh or puts a smile on your face.

There have been many funny moments at Titan but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be all the times I’ve managed to trip over the box during box jump overs. No matter how many times it happens, it still makes me laugh (and keeps me humble). The moments that always put a smile on my face are whenever I get to do a partner workout with Grace. We always encourage each other, push one another to work harder, and somehow manage to have a great time no matter how tough the WOD is!

What are you proud of and why?

Lately, I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of the Hyrox classes on Saturdays. They’re intense, but in the best way — the mix of endurance, strength, and strategy keeps things exciting and constantly pushes me out of my comfort zone. I was especially proud of my Half-Rox time, which felt like a huge accomplishment after putting in consistent work. Since starting Hyrox, I’ve noticed a big improvement in my cardio and overall endurance, and it’s been so rewarding to see that progress pay off during workouts.

What's your advice for other CrossFitters or people looking to start?

CrossFit can definitely feel intimidating at first — there are so many movements, skills, and workouts that seem impossible when you’re just starting out. My biggest piece of advice is to give yourself some grace and remember that everyone has been in the same boat at one point or another. Every single person in the gym started somewhere, and progress takes time. Celebrate the small wins, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or scale movements — that’s how you learn and grow. The best part is that you’ll always have an amazing community around you cheering you on every step of the way.

Why the coaches chose Christine as Titan of the Month:

Christine possesses a humble and laid-back demeanor, which completely transforms the moment the workout begins. Focused, intense, and competitive, Christine moves exceptionally well, consistently striving to maintain proper form even under fatigue — a critical skill for athlete longevity. The phrase "I can't" is absent from her vocabulary, and her outstanding body awareness allows her to implement coaching cues and technique changes almost instantaneously.

However, Christine is recognized as Titan of the Month not for her athletic prowess, but for her exemplary attitude and mental approach to CrossFit. She is an unintentional leader, admired by other members for her positivity, humbleness, and tenacious dedication to fitness. Christine's consistency is remarkable; she makes time for CrossFit in her constantly shifting schedule, showing up at various times of the day. Welcoming and encouraging to everyone, she possesses a unique ability to bring out the best in others. Christine embraces her current athletic journey and is always striving for improvement. Thank you, Christine, for your invaluable contribution to shaping our wonderful community here at Titan.
