The Open is Over... Now What?

The Open is done. No more Friday Night Lights, no more refreshing the leaderboard, no more second-guessing whether you should redo that workout (you probably shouldn’t have… but we’ve all been there, I know I have).

So now what?

For a lot of people, this is where things get tricky. During the Open, there’s built-in energy. You show up a little more consistently, push a little harder, and there’s a buzz in the gym that just makes everything more fun. Then suddenly… it’s over. And it can feel like someone flipped a switch.

First things first, don’t lose the momentum.
If you found yourself coming in 5–6 days a week during the Open, that wasn’t an accident. That was you, showing what you’re capable of when you’re locked in. You don’t need the Open to keep that going. Maybe it’s not 5 days a week anymore, but can you commit to 4 or 5? Can you keep that routine alive? Because that’s where real progress starts to stack up.

Now let’s talk about the other side of it.

Maybe you didn’t perform how you hoped.

Maybe a workout didn’t go your way. Maybe a movement tripped you up. Maybe you walked away thinking, “I should be better than that by now.”

Good. That feeling? It’s actually useful. You just need to handle it the right way.

The Open isn’t just a test of fitness, it’s feedback. It shows you exactly where your strengths are and where you’ve got room to grow. Struggled with gymnastics? There’s your focus. Got stuck with the barbell? Time to build strength. Gassed out halfway through? Let’s work on pacing and engine.

But here’s the key: don’t try to fix everything at once.
Pick one or two things and chip away at them. Stay consistent. Trust the process. That’s how real change happens.

And just like anything else in CrossFit, you don’t have to do it alone.

One of the best parts of going through the Open at Titan is that you did it together. The cheers, the nerves, the “I really don’t want to do this workout” moments we all felt it. And that doesn’t go away just because the Open is over. If anything, this is when the community matters even more.

This is where your coaches help you build a plan.
This is where your class crew keeps you accountable.
This is where just showing up, on the days you don’t feel like it, makes the biggest difference.

Because at the end of the day, the Open is just a snapshot.
What really matters is what you do next.

So take a breath. Be proud of what you accomplished. Learn from what didn’t go your way. And then get back to work.

We’ll see you in class.
