I am currently 26 years old. I teach middle school history and I've been a member at Titan CrossFit since May 2024.
What led you to try CrossFit?
I played college football which led me into my first CrossFit gym. I first just used the equipment to train for football and eventually started doing CrossFit in 2020 and 2021 at the end of my senior year football season.
Why do you continue to CrossFit?
CrossFit has helped me to surround myself with like-minded people that help me push myself and expand my fitness every day.
Describe how your attitude towards health and fitness has evolved since you began your journey.
My journey towards health and fitness has continued to grow into new avenues of fitness, such as distance running, completing my first marathon this year.
Share a memorable CrossFit moment that makes you laugh or puts a smile on your face.
Not really a specific CrossFit moment, but events like Murph and the Open are things that put a smile on my face. Always great when the community comes together.
What are you proud of and why?
Something fitness related that I am proud of is completing my first marathon this year. It was a lot of training, I have a lot to learn and get better at, but it was something I am proud of.
What's your advice for other CrossFitters or people looking to start?
Advice to people looking to start CrossFit would be to scale appropriately. Do movements you are comfortable doing to start with and slowly learn new movements and skills. The more you can do, the more fun it becomes.
Why the coaches chose Brendan as Titan of the month:
Success in his personal fitness journey is a testament to Brendan's consistency and positive outlook. Though highly self-motivated and independent, he is always receptive to advice and tips, readily seeking help when he needs it. He is a supportive member of the Titan community, quick to offer praise to fellow athletes and always willing to be a partner in the gym.
As a middle school teacher, Brendan's helpful, inquisitive, and open-minded nature shines through, both inside and outside of the gym.
